Then the old druid came to him again, and led him to the fishermanÕs dwelling where the boy was. And Gwydion saw the island Caer Aranrhod, where the druid had brought him before. The boy grew used to Gwydion and loved him better than anyone, and though child hardly lived, he was skilled in craft and handiwork. When the fisherman saw that he was GwydionÕs child, he bade Gwydion take the boy. Then the boy was reared till he was four years old; and it was remarkable that a boy eight years old was as good as he at craftworking, though he had grown no bigger.
Then Gwydion knew that the boy had not thrived because he had not received a name from his mother. He resolved to get a name for the boy, though he would need to go to Caer Aranrhod, where Beli was. And he said Ôthe boy shall have a name from his mother, though it be dangerous for me to go to the island, and into the presence of Beli.Õ
